Tackle Spring Early & Start with Winter cleaning!

While it isn’t necessarily a coined term, Winter is as good of a time to start cleaning as Spring is.

With the team at MyConnect spending a lot more time at home, we’ve looked at ways to tidy things up around the house to save the hassle when Spring arrives later this year.

Here is a list of things you can do to assist your Winter cleaning so you can stay on top of your cleaning game.

Keep that dust off

It’s easy to sit back and relax while waiting for Spring to arrive, so why not try to make the effort of staying on top of your dusting and preening. With Spring on the horizon, its crucial you’re keeping dust to a minimum, and not leaving it until your hay fever actually hits.

Wiping off the windows and curtains is a good start, as they have most likely been closed for the better part of winter. Then move on towards any unused tabletops and anything else that may have collected dust.

Clean the washing machines

Your dishwashers, dryers and washing machines will quickly collect dirt and grime, and that’s the last thing you want from something that’s designed to rid of just that. It may seem bizarre to think about, but cleaning these machines before you start your winter-cleaning haul is vital.

Clear the cupboard

Everyone has his or her own eating habits, which also change during different seasons, especially heading out of winter. Clearing out the cupboard of old foods you won’t eat in the winter can be very useful and promote a clean cupboard area. That can be from switching out from yogurts to soups to coffees from milkshakes.

Sorting out old clothing

Clearing through all your cluttered items can often bring out old clothing you used to wear on the daily. That was until you outgrew it last season or even season’s prior. Now is a good time to rid of these old pieces of clothing, and sending them to Goodwill for the less fortunate to wear is a charitable way to clean up your living space.

Create a to-do list

The idea of winter cleaning itself can be overwhelming as it can seem like a big and unordinary task to undertake, but creating a list of things to clear out while you’re stuck inside can ease the pressure off your shoulders.

Taking it step by step and not trying to do everything at once will help you pace yourself and knocking down these tasks one by one will be a rewarding addition to an already satisfying clean home.

Follow these tips and suddenly you’ll be sitting back and relaxing in the warmer Spring weather while everyone else is getting themselves dirty from cleaning this Spring.
